How are you practicing your art in the time of Covid-19?
Wednesday, April 1
7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. (ET)
With the entire world on lockdown amidst fears of the coronavirus, where and how are visual storytellers finding outlets for their creativity? We’ll hear from some photographers who are trying to figure out ways to make their art in the worst of times, including WomenStreetPhotographers.com founder Gulnara Samoilova, who has begun curating photos that may one day make up an exhibit reminding us what life was like during the Covid-19 pandemic. She’ll be joined by NYC street photographer Reuben Radding who roams the mostly empty streets of the city for his series “Corona Diary,” and Angela Douglas Ramsey, a Norfolk photographer who is photographing neighborhood families in quarantine, and NYC wedding photographer Priyanca Rao who started a Facebook group that brings together a global community of photographers to participate in a group project. Chantale Wong, a member of Focus on the Story’s board of directors, will moderate. This is an interactive presentation with audience Q&A.
